Basic Presentation Requirements
Oral Abstract
These face-to-face live sessions are approximately 15 minutes followed by a question
period. They can
address a range
of theoretical, educational or research-based topics relating to but not limited to the conference
theme.
Abstract body should be a minimum of 300 characters and maximum of 600 characters, excluding
spaces.
Images and tables are not accepted or published with the abstract. Abstracts are text
only.
Authors are not permitted to submit an abstract on previously published work unless the
abstract
represents
further progression of the published research.
All
submitted
abstracts
should:
Be written in
English
Include a title of 12 words maximum.
Include three key words.
Use the following headings:
Introduction including
Purpose/Proposition
Approach or Methods
Results/ Findings/ Supporting Arguments
Poster Abstract Guidelines
Title: A concise and informative title that
clearly indicates the
subject of the poster.
Keywords: A few relevant keywords, no more than 6,
that
help
categorize the poster's
content.
Abstract: The abstract should be concise, typically should be between
400 words, and
written in an
accessible manner to a broad audience. It is a key to ensure clarity, coherence, and focus.
It is recommended to include the following areas in the
abstract:
Background/Objectives: A brief introduction to the topic, outlining the problem or
research
question the poster addresses.
Methods: A succinct description of the methodology or
approach used in the
research.
Results: Key findings or results of the study, presented in a clear and summarized
manner.
Conclusions: Interpretation of the results, including their implications or
significance in the
context of the field.
Presentation Guidance
Use PPT.doc or PPT.docx formats.
Ensure your presentation is MAC-compatible.
Compress any videos included in your presentation.
Create slides that are concise, uncluttered, and readable from a distance.
Use only key words and phrases for visual reinforcement and avoid lengthy text.
AV Setup / Audio / Video Playback
Equipment Provided:
Laser pointer
Cordless microphone
Desktop microphone
Basic sound system
Check in any audio/video files with the AV team 24 hours before your presentation.
Upload your presentation at least 3 days before traveling to the conference venue.
Upload Your Presentation Slides
Submit your presentation slides at least 3 days prior to the conference start date.
Use the email address provided during abstract submission to upload slides (file size must be under
8 MB).
Alternatively, email slides to the designated conference email 3 days before the event.
All presentations will be pre-checked and loaded onto the session room laptop (Mac).
Basic sound system
Bring a backup copy of your presentation slides on a USB drive.
Considerations for PC Users Moving to Mac
File Extensions:
Use .PPTX or .PPSX for PowerPoint 2007/2008/2011 formats.
Media Files:
Copy media files to the folder where the PowerPoint file is stored before inserting them to avoid
broken links.
Use AVI or MPEG for videos; avoid WMV.
Fonts:
Use Arial, Times New Roman, Courier, and Symbol for best compatibility on Macs.
Poster Guidelines
Poster Display:
Maximum poster board size: 1m (Width) x 1m (Length).
Poster board number must be visible at all times.
Include title, author names, email, phone number, and institution.
Hand-carry your poster using tubular packaging.
Pushpins will be provided to mount your poster.
